I am not big on New Year’s Resolutions, if you are that’s fine. I just think gearing up once a year and making a list of goals is not realistic. It needs to be a year long, constantly changing thing…
This year has been a challenging one, but a great one! There have been the highest of highs, and the lowest of lows.
But I do have a wish for 2018…
It comes from a song I can’t shake out of my head the last couple of weeks, and usually when that happens, it’s something I need to share, something that needs to be said.
If there is a light, We can’t always see
If there is a world, We can’t always be
If there is a dark, Now we shouldn’t doubt
And there is a light, Don’t let it go out
There is SO MUCH in these 4 little lines, but it says it all.
Right now, for a lot of people they can’t see the light. Our world, at this moment isn’t living up to all it can be. If you are “in the dark”, know there is a light! If you see the “light”, protect it, be the light, don’t give up and let the light go out!
Matt 5:16 – In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.
This lyric kills me…
I’ve got a question for the child in you before it leaves
Are you tough enough to be kind?
Do you know your heart has it’s own mind?
Darkness gathers around the light
Hold on, hold on
Are you? Are you tough enough to be kind? There seems to be much less of that in the world today, particularity on social media. And unfortunately it seems to be seeping into our “normal” face to face exchanges with one another.
I Corinthians 3:16 says, “Do you not know your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit.” Our heart DOES have it’s own mind, we know right from wrong, kindness from meanness, love from hate. Yet so many of us are losing touch with that “inner voice”.
‘Cause this is a song
A song for someone
Someone like me
My wish is for more kindness, more appreciation, more charity, more empathy, more hugs, more understanding, more random acts of kindness, more respect, more listening, more praying, more feeling…
